Dholera Railway Station is set to gain a major boost as the Bhavnagar Port rail line extends to the new container terminal, enhancing connectivity for Dholera SIR industries and strengthening Gujarat’s trade network.

Bhavnagar is set to witness a major infrastructure push as Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has approved the extension of the railway line up to the proposed container terminal at Bhavnagar Port. This move is expected to significantly benefit Dholera Railway Station by strengthening rail connectivity for industries in the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR).

Currently, Bhavnagar Port already has a railway line, but the new extension will provide direct access to the upcoming container terminal. This connectivity is vital for handling imports and exports efficiently, making Dholera Railway Station a crucial link in Gujarat’s growing industrial network.

The project gained momentum following representations from Union Ministers Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya and Nimuben Bambhaniya, along with Bhavnagar West MLA Jitu Vaghanii. With Bhavnagar Port being developed as a multi-purpose port, the extension marks a big step towards faster growth and better trade opportunities for the region.
