Dholera Update: Greenfield Smart City Development Gathers Speed with ₹35,984 Cr Investment
Dholera SIR (Special Investment Region), located in Ahmedabad district, continues to gain massive traction as India’s first Greenfield Industrial Smart City. According to the latest Dholera update, the region has attracted a whopping ₹35,984 crore in investments across various sectors.

1. ₹35,984 Cr+ Investment Across Key Sectors
As per official sources, multiple industries have committed large-scale investments in Dholera SIR, positioning it as a major growth corridor for Gujarat and India.
2. Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway Nearing Completion
The 110 km Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway is expected to be completed by June 2025, reducing travel time from Ahmedabad to just 50 minutes. The project is being executed under the Bharatmala Project by the National Highways Authority of India on an EPC model.
3. Planned Development Underway
The Dholera SIR project covers 930 sq. km, including 22 villages. Out of the 27 draft town planning schemes, work on 11 is actively progressing. Under the land pooling model, 50% of the land is utilized for infrastructure and social amenities, while the remaining is returned to landowners as final plots.
4. Dholera International Airport Construction Begins
The Dholera International Airport is also taking shape with site development, runway, taxiway, and terminal construction in progress. Tenders for major works have already been issued by the Airport Authority of India.

Declared under the Gujarat Special Investment Region Act, 2009, Dholera SIR is not only a flagship project for Gujarat but a model for India’s industrial future.
