"Fuji Film investment in Dholera is set to boost India’s semiconductor industry, with the company planning its first major facility in Gujarat to meet rising chip demand."

Dholera, Gujarat is emerging as a hotspot for semiconductor growth, with Fuji Film investment in Dholera set to mark a major milestone in India’s chip-making journey. The Japanese company, which supplies critical semiconductor materials for wafer processing to global leaders like TSMC and GlobalFoundries, has revealed plans to establish its first large-scale facility in India.

Speaking at the Semicon India 2025 event, Tetsuya Iwasaki, General Manager of Fuji Film’s Electronic Materials Business Division, confirmed that the company is evaluating three possible approaches for its entry into the Indian market:

Setting up its own production unit

Licensed manufacturing with Indian firms

A joint venture with semiconductor makers
