Tata Semiconductor Dholera Plant Begins, Marking a New Era for India's Tech Industry

Dholera, Gujarat – Tata Electronics, in partnership with Taiwan’s Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation (PSMC), has officially launched India’s first semiconductor fabrication plant in Dholera. This landmark initiative, known as the Tata Semiconductor Dholera project, is a major step towards self-reliant chip manufacturing and reducing dependency on imports.

The plant will produce advanced chips ranging from 14nm to 65nm, used in smartphones, electric vehicles, medical devices, and defense systems. Backed by world-class infrastructure developed by the Gujarat government, the project is expected to generate over 20,000 jobs and significantly boost the Make in India and Digital India missions.

With this launch, Dholera is poised to become a global hub for semiconductor innovation and manufacturing.
