Japanese Delegation Dholera Visit Signals Rising Global Interest in India’s Semiconductor Hub
Dholera, Ahmedabad:
The Japanese delegation Dholera visit has put India’s flagship industrial region firmly in the global spotlight, as senior representatives from Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) led a high-level field mission to the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) in Gujarat.
Supported by the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in India (JCCII), the delegation included officials from nearly 45 Japanese companies, financial institutions, and trade bodies, highlighting Japan’s growing interest in India’s semiconductor and electronics manufacturing ambitions.
During the visit, officials from the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) and Dholera Industrial Development Limited (DIDL) briefed the Japanese delegation on Dholera’s rapid progress and investment-ready infrastructure. The tour covered key facilities such as Dholera International Airport, the Tata Semiconductor plant site, power substations, water treatment facilities, and smart-city developments.
A major highlight of the Japanese delegation Dholera visit was the ABCD Building complex, where members explored the Experience Centre and the Integrated Command & Control Centre, showcasing Dholera’s advanced digital governance, real-time monitoring, and smart urban management systems.
The visit reinforced Dholera SIR’s positioning as more than just an industrial estate — emerging instead as a fully integrated, technology-driven manufacturing ecosystem designed to support high-end sectors like semiconductors.
With strong institutional backing from Japan and visible on-ground readiness, the Japanese delegation Dholera visit is being seen as a key milestone in strengthening India–Japan industrial cooperation and advancing India’s vision of becoming a global semiconductor manufacturing destina
